All over the country student portfolios are becoming more popular. This required students to take ownership of their education and develop pride in their work. It was discovered that no one had an affordable way of doing electronic portfolio that kept the formatting of all artifacts, encouraged student creativity and was portable for continuation after school.
The ePortfolio requires a student to take ownership on their education and teaches computer skills that meet the National Educational Technology Standards. The ePortfolio has been piloted in Hamilton County (TN) Schools and the Department of Education has upgraded the computer technology to make it available for all county schools. Templates have been developed for grades 3-5, 6-8 and 9-12. Templates have been developed for colleges and a limited pilot has been performed at Chattanooga State Technical Community College.
